Livermore Valley Opera Bios

Meghan Michelle McGovern (Ida) is thrilled to be in a principal role with LVO having previously appeared in Cav/Pag. In 2007, she graduated with a B.A. in Vocal Performance from Azusa Pacific University where she won the Concerto Competition for ’07. Regional credits include: Carrie Pipperidge (Carousel), Hodel (Fiddler on the Roof), Lina Lamont (Singing in the Rain) and Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods). She has performed in over 50 productions with Diablo Light Opera Co., Tri Valley Repertory, Willows Theatre Co., SF Not Quite Opera and Woodminster.  Concert work includes: Bach’s B Minor Mass, Rutter’s Gloria, Mozart’s Exultate, Jubilate, and Barber’s Agnus Dei. Film credits include: Rent, The Princess Diaries and Alvin & the Chipmunks II. She also starred in a film that garnered the ’02 Golden Gate Award at the SF International Film Festival. Ms. McGovern has been the National Anthem girl for the LA Dodgers, the Oakland A’s and the SF Giants since 2000.  She currently studies with Sarah Franklin and teaches privately out of her home.
