Livermore Valley Opera Bios

Susanna Uher Jiménez (Adele) is an accomplished artist in both opera and concert. She has performed with Opera San José as Mary Warren (The Crucible), Adele (Die Fledermaus)); Violetta (La Traviata), Despina (Così fan tutte) and Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus) with Mission City Opera; Hannah (The Merry Widow) with Lyric Theatre of San Jose; Gretel (Hansel & Gretel) with Festival Walnut Creek, Apollo Touring Company and Golden Gate Opera; Juliette (Romeo et Juliette) and Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos) with Arizona Opera, among others.  Other roles include: Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Musetta (La Bohème), Rita (Donizetti’s Rita), and Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia).  She made her debut in Rome as Norina (Don Pasquale), and Violetta (La Traviata) in Nagoya, Japan.  On the concert stage, she has coached and performed art songs with Marilyn Horne and Warren Jones; was soloist for Mozart’s Requiem and Schubert’s Mass in G for Boston’s King’s Chapel Music Series; and was featured at the Boston Hatch Shell sponsored by Boston’s classical radio station WCR.  Awards include: as finalist in The Florida Grand Opera Vocal Competition, The MacAllister Awards Competition, The Rosa Ponselle International Vocal Competition, The Miss California Pageant, NATS Vocal Competition, and Young Artist at the Music Academy of the West.  Susanna has a BA in Music from the University of Pacific (Stockton) and an MM in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory.  She is a member of  Bella Sorella, www.bellasorella.net
