Livermore Valley Opera Bios


Michael Desnoyers (Dr. Blind) is thrilled to debut with LVO.  He made his professional debut with the Pittsburgh Opera as the Officer in Ariadne auf Naxos in 2005 and participated in the 2009 Chautauqua Opera Young Artist program where he covered the role of Spoletta (Tosca).   Springtime performances include Don Ottavio with Berkeley Opera and Sellem with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and also a performance of Schubert’s Winterreise and a graduate recital that will feature a new song cycle written for Michael by Joseph Stillwell.  Other performances at the SF Conservatory include Pluto in Orpheus in the Underworld, The Witch in Hansel and Gretel, and Monsieur Cash in Der Schauspieldirektor.  Awards include: winner of the 2004 Chad Williamson Memorial Scholarship Competition; second place winner at both the 2004 Tri-State NATS vocal competition and 2006 Eastern Regional NwATS competitions; and third place winner of the 2009 San Francisco Conservatory Bi-Annual Composer’s Art Song Competition. Michael is pursuing his graduate studies at the SF Conservatory of Music where he studies with César Ulloa.
