Livermore Valley Opera Bios


Raquel Holt is a founder of the Livermore Valley Opera that was incorporated in 1992.  Since then she has been involved in the successful evolution of the company as artistic director, producer and as a member of the board of directors.  As LVO’s producer, she has been successful in bringing to the Bankhead Theater acclaimed and well-received operas such as La Boheme, Carmen, The Marriage of Figaro, The Barber of Seville and most recently, Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci.  She is in-charge of the music program in fund-raiser events like the annual Opera in the Vineyard and An Intimate Musical Evening as well as A Taste of Opera, part of the Art Series of the Livermore Civic Library.  She is the chairperson of the Artistic Advisory Committee that recommends operas for the seasons and also represents LVO in the Livermore Cultural Arts Council.   Ms Holt has a B.A. degree in Music Education from the University of the Philippines.  With a full scholarship grant, she received the degree of Master of Music Ed from Illinois Wesleyan University.  She is a retired teacher of the Livermore School District.
